iHeart My iPhone

I have a confession. Until 2 weeks ago I owned and used a Motorola KRZR on a daily basis (*dodging tomatoes*). If you don’t know, the KRZR was the super cool smaller successor to the RZR. NOT COOL. Not even pleasantly functional the day I bought it. To my relief my contract was finally up with my previous provider (rhymes with Mrint) and I was free to join the iPhone revolution!
So is it really that awesome or is it all just talk? It’s awesome. I know this is someone who took a LARGE leap from the KRZR, but this thing has become my new personal assistant. These are ways I’ve used my iPhone in just the past two weeks…
1. Maps – I used it to find AT&T from the Apple store to transfer my out-of-state number. I admit I was still lost, but I was able to call and get directions.
2. Calculator – Santy was hosting Creative Connect, so April and I had to make sure we were in budget at the grocery store. We were way under budget, so we bought much more beer than planned. Don’t tell Dan Santy.
3. Email – I was house hunting last weekend and needed to keep in touch with my realtor about walk-through appointments. Communication was quick and painless. Then at last minute I easily canceled the entire thing and moved in with my boyfriend.
4. Camera – The new thing at Santy this week was to wear your roller skates to work. I took pictures and posted them right to Facebook and Twitter. The one with Adam rollerblading and baton swirling with a coffee stain on his shirt is still to come.
5. Scrabble – Thanks to Rebecca I’m addicted. If you want to play, get the app and find me for hours of intellectual word fun.
6. Weather – I was packing my bag over lunch today for a camping trip to Prescott this weekend. Instead of flipping on the T.V. and finding the weather channel or even grabbing my laptop, I whipped out my iPhone while standing in my closet and had the weather in 5 seconds. It’s going to be rainy all weekend! I needed that extra time to pack more clothes.
7. Google – Caught up on some reading with Google Reader while waiting to get my hairs cut.
8. Calendar – Put my next hair appointment in my calendar with a reminder on my phone.
9. Notes – The closet is getting a rehaul. I took down measurements to see which sized organizers from the Container Store would fit in the closet.
10. Clock – The alarm woke me up this morning…but I forgot to set it when I accidentally took a nap over lunch yesterday.
11. Pandora – I bought a Rock Band 2 set earlier this week! I streamed Pandora on my phone and we listened while we were setting up the stage to make our own sweet tunes.
12. Compass – Ok, I haven’t actually used this one yet, but I’m going to go get lost in the woods this weekend. If you don’t hear from me, it didn’t work, so send help.
I think you get the picture. Do uHeart your iPhone? Which are your favorite apps and how do you use them?
