What got you into this business in the first place?
4th grade, a Mac, Print Shop and a dot matrix printer. Creating birthday banners was my favorite.
Who was a big influence in your career?
My parents for supporting this Nebraska girl off pursuing her dreams in an unfamiliar desert and also Stephan Sagmeister, the designer who inspires me most. He has an amazingly dangerous way of combining hand-made and computer-made graphics.
What was “your finest moment,” the thing you’re most proud of?
My first table-less CSS website. I’m a nerd.
What was your most embarrassing moment in this business?
I thrive on embarrassment. I embarrass myself every day…in public.
Is there a great client story you’d care to share?
I had a nonprofit client that was amazing to work with, because I was easily able to see how my advertising efforts were directly affecting lives.

One that can make you feel like Superman just because you drink their soda.
What driving career goals do you still have?
Learn ActionScript 3 and JavaScript.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about advertising?
The people in this industry make it most exciting. So many creative minds under one roof make for a rewarding and enjoying career.
What talent do you wish you had?
I take a lot of photos, but I wish I was a qualified photographer.
If you had to live on a desert island, what would you miss most?
Chicken Nuggets.

My Mac.

Make seashell necklaces on the seashore and live in a straw hut.

I grew up in Northeast Nebraska baiting fishing hooks, camping and working in cornfields.
